Mostly, the simple realisation that one species (Homo sapien) has proliferated out of control is the cause of our environmental trauma forms a foundation at the base of my mind. I think about the recent meeting in Switzerland (2005), where Bill Gates, Tony Blair and other prominent world leaders pledged huge financial support to the suffering people of Africa! I think that in some way they are the cause of the suffering. I think of what Africa means to the rest of the world and in particular the G8 nations and I try to consider what motivates them.
Surely, focusing on a healthy environment would be better than throwing some food and money at their feet, and have they considered cause and effect?
I think about promises made and never kept!
I think about the WSSD and the resultant realization that mankind themselves are on the verge of creating the 6th extinction, their own extinction, due to the impact we have on our planet and natural environment. I think about the world leaders, the promises made and never kept. Who is accountable and who will keep them to it? The understanding clearly apparent, the resolve absolutely lacking!
I think about building my new home in an environmentally friendly way, about solar energy and renewable resources and not connecting to electricity supply at all. I cannot see that it will impact on our lifestyle negatively in any way at all. I consider the environmental cost of a nuclear power station!! I consider Rands and Cents. Why are we still trying to supply our rural communities with electricity? Who benefits? Who pays? I think about our Wetlands and the government departments and officials who issue permits to develop or mine them. I think about how the mines have polluted our underground water and streams. Surely there must be accountability, but who ensures this? The government whom issued the permits in the first place? Or civil society?
I consider people I know. I consider people. I wonder how many, out of a population of 44 million will be prepared to belong to a conservation NGO, to add their environmental voice to a collective whole. I consider socio-economic issues. I think about a meeting with Anthony Shaw of the Outdoor Warehouse who said, “…this is not about any benefit to us, but what we as an organisation can do to help People For Wildlife”. Perhaps there is hope after all. I know it has to be a collective effort, it’s about numbers and mandate. It is time for civil Society to stand up and be counted. Go on, make a difference, just do something. Today!
It is now 5 Nov 2024. Our home has been off the grid for over four years, we have had no negative effect on our lifestyle at all. The covid scamdemic cost us a lifetime of work and dedication and we as a family have had to start again. When I now stop to think, I realize that the normal, good people of the world have been psy-opped into minion’s to serve and provide for an unworthy and corrupt few. ……. I consider nature…………..I consider people, We the people need to know when to say NO!!!!!
I Think. Perhaps, Politics is an unjust and broken system I Think. Taxes are not needed! Why are we paying the idiots whom print the money anyways? I Think!!! I think about the TRILLIONS that is pumped by unworthy politicians into wars that maime and cripple the innocent as they desperately work harder to put a meal on the table for their family. I think about better ways to have applied the resources.
I think that perhaps tampering with the weather and natures fundamental ways should be a crime against the planet (Not just humanity). I consider how this would impact on those whom create GMO’s and a myriad of interference’s with GODS creation. I think that maybe our apathy and complacency spells complicity. Go on, make a difference, just do something. Today!
